The cold air strikes
my shallow heart
the way you struck my broken soul.
Its chill runs strong
throughout my veins
and fills my heartless
hole.
My voice is broken,
tiresome,
from screaming in my head.
Of hundreds of emotions,
still the one
remains unsaid.
My eyes are growing weary
from envisioning your face.
My ears strain to remember
your wonderous, silent grace.
And though my mind knows
so well
that we will never be
again,
my body clings to its aches from you;
my long lost,
loving,
eternal friend.
