Who, What, When, Where, Why, How?
By Arie

Who to turn to
when your heart wants to weep?
The beating askew
with the secret you keep

What do you do
when your faith shows untrue?
Wavered by the battle
between darkness and you

When don't you feel
like your mind is amiss?
In old age wisdom
or in newborn bliss?

Where do you look
when your soul lies unfound?
In the City of Hope
or the outskirts of Town?

Why do you live
when your life is a lie?
And which makes more sense-
to suffer or die?

How do you love
when your heart is complete?
The other half being
the one you can't seek

Will She Ever Know?
By Arie

I lend her my jacket
cleaned new yet so old
Will she ever know
that I'm lying and cold?

I tell her I'm looking
at the couple beyond
Will she ever know
that I'm watching her yawn?

She shows me her lover
We meet and handshake
Will she ever know
that my smile is fake?

Now writing this poem
I hope it's not true
Have I found love
in the angel that's you?

Shadow

Slow Eternity
By Arie

By the tree
I stood watching.
Like the moon,
my heart waiting
for the sun,
for its falling,
and its light
slowly fading.

As my hope,
slowly dimming
in the light,
my heart swimming.

Drowning
in the light.
The light
getting shallow.

My heart,
what is left-
dim light
and great shadow.

By myself
I stand watching.
